About NSTI - NSTI (W) Agartala

Women Empowerment has always been a critical factor in judging the growth of a developing nation. In this era of globalization, the world’s eye is upon India and how effectively this nation manages employment and empowerment of women. Especially when this sub-continent has 48.17% of female population. National Skill Training Institute for Women (NSTIW) is doing exactly the same and is taking the baton of women empowerment forward. Functioning under the wings of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India, NSTIW Agartala which was created in 2015 works for the WOT section of the Directorate General of Training. With its first initial vocational institutes at New Delhi, NSTIW has branched to a lot other cities in India. In Agartala, Tripura, NSTIW functions its day to day activities from its new lush green Campus completed recently situated at Anandanagar, Agartala, Tripura. It is well connected by air, railways and roadways.

History

NSTI (W) comes under Government of India, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Directorate General of Training (formerly Ministry of Labour & Employment, Directorate General of Employment & Training). Women Occupation Training (WOT) separated under Directorate General of Training (formerly DGE&T) in the year 1976. The first institute under WOT started functioning were National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) for Women, at New Delhi, with 2 regional vocational training institutes called RVTI, at erstwhile Bombay and Bangalore.

Prinicipal's Desk: 

NSTI(W) Agartala (formerly known as RVTI for Women) is operationalized in the year 2015 under the aegis of MSDE, Government of India with the objective of accelerating vocational training for the benefit of female target group of Tripura. The NVTI/RVTIs organize regular training programmes in trades having high employability and need based training to become self entrepreneur. Training programmes are designed on industrial pattern, which includes 8 hours of regular training each day - 5 days a week.
